Intercept in partnership with the AA (Automobile Association) and various FET Technical Colleges, is currently registering learners for the Suspension Fitment Training as part of a project sponsored by the Merseta.
The training is fully sponsored by the Merseta to the value of R100 000 per fitment Centre. Centres may therefore send up to 9 people for training and assessment or assessment only.
Suspension Fitters that are currently employed at Fitment Centres will have a choice between attending:
1. Part 1 and Part 2- Assessment only- open to learners that have a minimum of 1 year experience working as a suspension fitter at a fitment centre/s. The Assessment will take 2 days to complete. Learners will be briefed on the preparation for the assessment, prior to the actual assessment.
2. Part 1 and Part 2-The Complete Programme - includes all training, as well as, assessment. The complete programme will take 4 days to complete. ( maximum 1 day per week, usually on a Saturday, or 4 consecutive days if requested)

1. Who will benefit from the training?
All Fitment Centre establishments in which operatives are engaged on
aspects of suspension work, including but not limited to; McPherson Struts, shock
absorbers, control arm bushes, tie rod ends, shackle bushes, stabilizer bar bushes,
coil springs, leaf springs, ball joints, etc
2. Who pays for the Training
Merseta covers all costs via a voucher system. The company completes the attached form. Intercept will apply for all vouchers and manage the bookings and administration thereafter.
Credentials
All programmes have been approved and registered by the MERSETA and credits obtained will count towards any full qualification that contains the completed unit standards. Intercept is an accredited Training Provider-accreditation number 587/00103/2007. All programmes will be offered in partnership with FET Technical Colleges and the AA (Automobile Association), using qualified and registered lecturers/facilitators/assessors and moderators.
Learners will be awarded a Certificate of completion from Intercept and a statement of results from the Manufacturing Training authority (Merseta) confirming that credits earned will be recorded on the National learner records database (NLRD).
